The Story

Resilia, a tech company that services nonprofit organizations and the organizations that want to donate to them, has announced an $8 million Series A funding round.

It’s that highest venture capital raise by a female-founded tech company in Louisiana, according to GNO, Inc. It’s also one of the largest Series A funding rounds made by an enterprise software company led by an African American female founder, a news release said.

The New Orleans-based company was founded in 2009 by Sevetri Wilson after graduating from LSU. Resilia, which also has offices in New York City, offers software solutions for nonprofits coming online and needing help with compliance, management and fundraising.

The company has grown into a subscription platform that charges $199 per month for philanthropic organizations to gain access to its list of well-run nonprofits. Nonprofits pay $99.99 per month for access to management tools, grant writing support and other features, according to a profile on the company by TechCrunch.

Resilia received early funding from the New Orleans Startup Fund and support through its PowerMoves program.

The Series A funding round was led by Los Angeles-based Mucker Capital and Louisiana-based Callais Capital Management with participation by Cultivation Capital.
