The annual summit for research institution gap fund and accelerator programs, including proof of concept programs, startup accelerators, and university venture funds

The Story

University Hospitals in Cleveland is partnering with Creative Destruction Lab and Case Western Reserve University to launch a healthcare innovation program designed to help startups test and scale technologies within a real clinical environment.

The initiative, called CDL-Cleveland, will host Creative Destruction Lab’s Healthcare Delivery stream and marks the first CDL site anchored to a health system, according to a May 27 news release.

The program will give early-stage healthcare technology companies direct access to University Hospitals’ clinical environment, allowing founders to work alongside clinicians and caregivers to validate technologies aimed at reducing healthcare costs, improving patient outcomes and accelerating innovation adoption.

Ventures participating in the Healthcare Delivery stream will move through a nine-month, objectives-based program connecting founders with clinicians, mentors and healthcare experts while providing opportunities to engage directly with University Hospitals operations.
