In the second year of the President’s Research Excellence (PRE) Accelerator Grant program, over $750,000 was granted to 15 multidisciplinary Ohio State research teams. Each award of up to $50,000 is administered by the Office of Knowledge Enterprise and is intended for small teams to explore innovative, high-risk, high-reward research.
“When we bring together different expertise and different points of view, we have the potential to solve some of society’s biggest problems,” said Dorota Grejner-Brzezinska, vice president for knowledge enterprise at Ohio State. “This funding provides a vital seed for Ohio State researchers to explore their ideas to solve complex problems and a mechanism to drive convergent research across the university.”
Ohio State has contributed more than $3 million in seed money for cross- and transdisciplinary research that has the potential to attract external funding since the PRE program began in 2021.
