At the fourth Investment Celebration event on April 22 in East Lansing, the MSU Student Venture Capital Fund made recommendations for pre-seed investment in five promising Michigan-based firms.
The MSU SVCF is a partnership between the Michigan State University Foundation, Red Cedar Ventures, and the Center for Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Entrepreneurial Finance in the Broad College of Business.
MSU students enrolled in FI 444: Entrepreneurial Finance will have hands-on experience in venture capital investment as a result of the partnership. To provide an investment recommendation to Red Cedar Ventures, students analyze a pipeline of early-stage start-up firms from the entrepreneurial ecosystem and undertake investment selection, due diligence, market and competitive research, and valuation analysis.
