innovosource, through its Mind the Gap initiative, just released the first-ever quarterly university-affiliated technology and start-up gap funding report. The goal of this quarterly report is to advocate for and inform practitioners and the general public on the importance of this funding mechanism to the future of technology and start-up development. Through this report, we will establish the first and most comprehensive set of activity data through close partnership with university-affiliated gap funds. The report contains fund activity data from nine pilot institutions and shares information on:
- projects and funding levels
- technology areas and targeted industry sectors of interest
- “best in gap funding” examples of leading programs
The report also provides an overview of gap funding, including:
- positioning of gap funding in the new capital continuum
- types of gap funds
- impact of gap funding
We will continue to develop the participant group through 2013 and expand the activity data and analysis.
Fund managers that are interested in participating should contact us at connect@innovosource.com
