NeuroPred, a Coralville-based spinout from the University of Iowa, has won first place and $40,000 in the 21st John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Venture Competition.
More than 60 teams entered this year’s competition, with 11 advancing to the final presentation round. NeuroPred took the top prize with an AI-powered clinical platform designed to predict post-stroke outcomes directly from brain MRI.
The company is led by Michal Brzus, PhD, CEO and CTO, and has previously won both the Innovation Challenge and AI Challenge through the University of Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.
The award provides additional non-dilutive capital as NeuroPred advances a working clinical platform toward commercialization and an FDA 510(k) regulatory pathway.

The company’s technology is built on research from the Iowa Neurological Patient Registry and has progressed from concept-stage development to a functioning clinical platform.
