The Story

The City University of Hong Kong has launched a large-scale flagship innovation and entrepreneurship program – HK Tech 300 – for aspiring entrepreneurs among its students and staffers, aiming to create 300 start-ups in three years.

The program will offer professional training and a seed fund for different project teams to develop innovative ideas into start-ups, validating a business model and eventually grow a successful tech venture.

Eligible start-ups may also be recommended to receive financial support from external funds of up to HK$10 million.

The external funds include TSSSU and Research Talent Hub from the Innovation and Technology Fund, and incubation programs from the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.

Chairman of the CityU Council, Lester Garson Huang, said the HK Tech 300 program will be a great platform for education, entrepreneurship and personal growth.

“ It provides opportunities for our students and young people in Hong Kong to excel beyond their boundaries in their entrepreneurship journey and become future leaders in society,” said Huang.
