Oregon BEST supports OSU-Industry collaboration on filter technology

PORTLAND, Ore. ­ A new round of commercialization funding from Oregon BEST is helping a Portland company collaborate with Oregon State University researchers to advance a biochar-based filter system that utilizes waste biochar from lumber mills to remove heavy metals from stormwater.

MIT Media Lab spinoff Luminoso scores $6.5M in funding

Luminoso, a Cambridge-based text analytics company that has its roots in the MIT Media Lab, announced Wednesday that it’s raised $6.5 million in Series A funding, led by Acadia Woods and with participation from Tokyo-based Digital Garage.
