The annual summit for research institution gap fund and accelerator programs, including proof of concept programs, startup accelerators, and university venture funds

The Story

Officials recently gathered recently at the Child Health Institute in New Brunswick to mark a $47.5 million federal grant awarded to the Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science.

The funding comes via the National Institutes of Health. The award, which helps convert research discoveries into practical tools and treatments, is the only Clinical and Translational Science Award in the state. It comes via the New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science.

The collaborative program is led by Rutgers in partnership with Princeton University, the New Jersey Institute of Technology and RWJBarnabas Health. The alliance was formed in 2019, with an initial $29 million in NIH funding. It includes scientists, health care providers, patient advocacy organizations and community members.
