Fast Forward Medical Innovation (FFMI)(link is external), a unit of the University of Michigan Medical School Office of Research(link is external), is launching the third round of the Frankel Innovation Initiative(link is external), a $20 million gift from the Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation to support research and development of life-saving therapies at Michigan Medicine and other institutions. Letters of Intent will be accepted beginning April 4th.
The Frankel Innovation Initiative is aimed to build on the best practices of U-and M’s other top schools’ standout programs, while also leveraging U-enormous M’s biomedical research business. The $20 million grant is split between four to seven projects each year, with each receiving between $250,000 and $500,000. Up to three years of financing is available for projects.
