Kent State University receives three grants from Third Frontier Tech Validation and Start-up Fund
The Ohio Third Frontier program recently made three separate grants to Kent State University researchers through the newly established Technology Validation and Start-up Fund, which promotes the commercialization of Ohio technologies developed by the state’s institutions of higher education.
UCSD Von Liebig Center Graduate, Ortiva Wireless, is acquired
Israel’s Allot Communications (NASDAQ:ALLT), which optimizes data traffic and performance for both fixed and mobile broadband networks, says it is acquiring San Diego-based Ortiva Wireless, which specializes in optimizing video streaming across wireless networks. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
NUtech Ventures/UTDC uses proof of concept funding to support a promising imaging spin-out, Ground Fluor Pharmaceuticals Inc.
University Technology Development Corp. provided proof-of-concept funding to help move DiMagno’s imaging agents out of the lab and into clinical trials. Supporting the transfer of university technology to the marketplace, UTDC is a University of Nebraska affiliate and the parent company of NUtech Ventures.
